| Without a doubt, the Saturday
night party was the highlight of the year. A good time was had
by all. Unfortunately, despite Pete's best efforts to sweet
talk the Indian girl at the front desk, we were booted out of
the room. Eric Sandstrom managed to record the phone call that
got us booted. It is really too bad that he could only record
one side of the conversation. As you can see on the video, it
was so funny that I actually started crying.
A little background may be useful for everyone
who was not there. Steve managed to arrange for a courtesy
room that we could use for our Saturday night party. It was on
the top floor of the hotel and it was free! That was the best
thing Steve did all weekend as far as I'm concerned. On
Saturday night, we had a call or two from the Indian girl down at
the desk asking us to quiet down. I kept telling her we would
turn down the TV (as if that is what was too loud). At some
point, she sent somebody up to try to quiet us down. We sent
him packing and told him that we had arranged with the girl
downstairs that we would just turn down the TV.

Phone rings (again).
Nobody seems to want to pick it up, so Pete takes on the Challenge.
We pick it up right there on the video.
Pete: Hello
Indian Girl: THAT IS IT, I HAVE
WARNED YOU ENOUGH. MANY PEOPLE ARE CALLING ME TO COMPLAIN.
YOU MUST DISPERSE, YOU MUST DISPERSE, YOU MUST DISPERSE.
Pete: We just turned the TV down.
Indian Girl: YOU HAVE HAD YOUR CHANCE
AND WE HAVE BEEN PATIENT. PEOPLE ARE DOWN HERE AT THE DESK
COMPLAINING. YOU MUST DISPERSE, YOU MUST DISPERSE, YOU
MUST DISPERSE.
Pete: How about if we turn it off?
Indian Girl: NO, YOU MUST DISPERSE
NOW. YOU MUST LEAVE THAT ROOM..
Pete: Will we have to pay for the
room if we leave the room.
Indian Girl (absolutely screaming
now). YOU DID NOT PAY FOR THE ROOM. WE GAVE YOU THAT
ROOM TO USE FOR FREE.
Pete: Oh.
Indian Girl (continuing to scream).
YOU MUST DISPERSE NOW. WE HAVE HAD PEOPLE COMPLAINING FOR SEVERAL
HOURS. THERE ARE PEOPLE AT THE FRONT DESK YELLING AT ME RIGHT
NOW. IF YOU WILL NOT DISPERSE, I WILL HAVE TO COME UP THERE
RIGHT NOW.
Pete: Could you bring up some pizzas
when you come?
Indian girl: (still louder) I AM NOT
GOING TO BE BRINGING ANY PIZZAS, I AM GOING TO BE BRINGING THE COPS.
Pete: hangs up phone and starts
crying.
