Ignore pain

Ignore pain.  Yes, hockey players must ignore pain.  We have all heard about the NHL players who get stitched up between shifts.  Anyone who misses a shift always goes down a notch on the toughness list.  We have had motivational pages along this line before.  Remember 2004?  The page was called Sacrifice and Ignore pain.  This is expected of hockey players.  You cannot show weakness or your opponent may take advantage, skate past you and zip one by JOEY from the blue line.
Now I know some of you may think that I went too far this time, but I don't think so.  There is a double lesson here.  Do you know what it is?  It should be obvious:

DON'T WEAR A RING WHEN YOU PLAY HOCKEY.

Why you ask?  Again, it should be obvious.  No, it is not because you might get hurt and lose part of your finger.  As hockey players we are trained to ignore pain, so that is not a big deal.  The reason is that you may not be able to give someone on the other team the finger if there is a good reason to do so.

Can you imagine what we would do if an opponent like this gave us the finger?  Someone like Kappler would probably accuse him of flipping us the bone.
