| All hockey fans know the greatness of Maurice "The
Rocket" Richard. Even though he didn't play for the Red
Wings, he was still pretty damn good. So good, in fact, that
every year the NHL passes out an award for the most goals called the
Rocket Richard Trophy. For the 2011 Detroit Chaos, to the surprise of
nobody, the Rocket Richard award was shared by 2 of the 3 M's.
Yes, the 2 brothers, Pete and Paul McDonald. While
some may say that it was not likely that Pete would lead the team in
goals, it certainly did not surprise him at all. Not
after the 2010 season when Captain Chaos unleashed the 3M's on Niagara
and the combination instantly clicked.
It should be an inspiration to all that the Senior member of the
Detroit Chaos is not only the spiritual and vocal leader of the team,
but also the leading goal scorer and despite his advancing age, he
continues to be a force to be reckoned with. Yes, Chaos fans, it will be
several more years before Pete is ready to join you in the stands to
cheer on the team. His 2011 performance truly was one for
the ages and should serve as inspiration to all Chaos players ... you do
not get older, you get better. (Oh yeah, I suppose
Paul played pretty well too and helped "O" McDonald to be in position
for his share of the award.) |
